The housing service helps people who have just received a residence permit and are settling in Liège to find and stabilize their housing situation. It was set up based on the following observation: access to housing is the starting point for all socio-economic inclusion initiatives.
People contact the service to find housing suited to their needs, to help them get settled, but also for all matters related to living: energy bills, grant applications, social housing applications, relations with landlords, etc. The housing service aims to answer all these questions, working closely with the legal and social services of Le Monde des Possibles.
Finding accommodation, settling in, water and energy bills, rental guarantee, etc.
The housing service is a member of the Eco-Logis network, coordinated by CALIF.
The housing service at Le Monde des Possibles is financed from its own funds and also operates thanks to the support of volunteers.
Casa Amigas : rental guarantee loans to newly recognized refugees settling in Liège.
The project Casa Amigas is a solidarity-based rental guarantee fund designed to help refugees access their first rental accommodation in Liège.
This is an interest-free loan with monthly payments set in consultation with participants (over a maximum of 24 months). Participants are asked to contribute €2 per month to finance a working capital fund. The project has been running since 2017 and is supported by the King Baudouin Foundation.
To benefit from Casa Amigas, an initial meeting with the housing service is required. If the situation meets the prerequisites and the fund has sufficient capacity, a signed (and unused) lease agreement and an account number must be presented. Participants in Le Monde des Possibles (MDP) are given priority in the granting of these loans.

The MDP housing service helps people who are seeking international protection or who have just received a residence permit, most of whom come from Fedasil reception centers, to find and settle into housing. Its implementation is based on the following observation: access to housing is the starting point for all socio-economic inclusion measures, which contribute to stabilizing people residence status.
People contact the service to find housing, to help them get settled, but also for all matters related to living: energy bills, housing subsidy applications, social housing applications, relations with landlords, etc. The housing service aims to answer all these questions, working closely with the legal and social services of Le Monde des Possibles.
Types of consultations (sometimes several topics per consultation):
- Housing search and related procedures
- Registration for public housing and AIS
- Casa Amigas – Rental guarantee loan
- Administrative matters relating to housing: new electricity contract, internet, contact with landlords, contact with the CPAS (public social welfare center) regarding the rental guarantee, procedures relating to the CILE (housing allowance), garbage collection.
- Application for ADeL and AAL benefits
- Search for emergency accommodation
- Unsanitary conditions: contact with the City of Liège safety and sanitation department, contact with landlords, administrative procedures with beneficiaries at the Wallonia sanitation department
The housing department receives appointment requests directly from the individuals concerned, or through referrals from partner services: mainly the Fedasil network, but also ILA, CPAS, social services, and non-profit organizations in Liège.
Finding accommodation requires searching online, particularly on real estate rental websites. The association is an EPN (Public Digital Space), and provides a space and computer equipment that can be used without an appointment, particularly for searching for accommodation.
