Dazibao is a program designed to support exiled individuals seeking residency in Belgium. The program aims to strengthen their skills while promoting a critical approach to reception policies and socio-legal mechanisms related to migration. By giving a voice to “eyewitnesses,” Dazibao provides a space for them to express their experiences and build collective advocacy.
Participants explore crucial issues such as access to fundamental rights, the impact of European migration policies, and the living conditions of people without residence permits. Through participatory workshops, they learn to identify systemic discrimination, organize as a collective, and create political advocacy materials to raise public awareness. This collective work results in powerful creations: posters, videos, and public testimonials.
By combining education, awareness, and action, Dazibao contributes to the empowerment of participants while advocating for social justice and sustainable inclusion.
The Dazibao project aims to transform the experiences of exiled people into a catalyst for collective action. Its main objectives include:
- Reducing isolation and vulnerability: Helping participants rebuild their social networks and familiarize themselves with their fundamental rights in order to limit the risks of exploitation and discrimination.
- Promoting social justice: Creating advocacy materials to raise public awareness about the impacts of migration policies, such as border externalization or the Dublin Regulation.
- Strengthening collective expression: Providing participants with the tools they need to produce impactful advocacy based on their personal testimonies and experiences.
Dazibao organizes several training sessions each year, each lasting two weeks. These sessions include interactive workshops on the following topics:
- Access to a residence permit and quality employment.
- Defending the rights of exiled persons and combating discrimination.
- Decent living conditions, with or without legal status.
By promoting the emergence of a collective voice, Dazibao aims to be a vehicle for change toward a more inclusive and equitable society.
